- Tadalafilo es un inhibidor reversible, y selectivo de la fosfodiesterasa tipo 5 (PDE5) específica del
guanosin monofosfato cíclico (GMPc). Cuando la estimulación sexual produce la liberación local de óxido
nítrico, la inhibición de la PDE5 por tadalafilo ocasiona un aumento de los niveles de GMPc en los
cuerpos cavernosos. El resultado es una relajación del músculo liso, permitiendo la afluencia de sangre a
los tejidos del pene, produciendo por tanto una erección. Tadalafilo no produce efectos en ausencia de
estimulación sexual.
